A GRAVEYARD monument erected in memory of a woman has been vandalised in the latest feud-related incident in the city, Limerick Live has learned.

Videos and photos of the damage in Mount St Oliver Cemetery, Crossagalla, Limerick city were widely shared via social media on Saturday. A section of the ornate headstone for the Limerick woman, who died in 2022, has been split in two.

Limerick Live understands that a second grave, of a man, in the same cemetery was also targeted. The deceased passed away in 2023.

A garda spokesperson said this Sunday: “Gardaí attended the scene, following a report on Saturday, March 8, 2025, of an incident of criminal damage at a Cemetery in Crossagalla, Co Limerick.”

However, it is unclear when the vandalism took place.

“Investigations are ongoing,” said the garda spokesperson.

It is believed it is the latest feud-related incident involving warring families on the southside of Limerick city.

It is one of a number of simmering feuds between rival groupings that Limerick gardai are endeavouring to keep from exploding.

“No injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing.”
