Gardaí investigate reports of bogus tradesmen who threaten Limerick homeowners

REPORTS of bogus tradesmen threatening homeowners in Limerick has prompted a warning by gardaí.

Gardaí are reminding people in Limerick not to engage with cold callers, following reports of two bogus tradesmen who called to a house at Norwood Park, Ballysimon at 1:20pm on Wednesday, October 30.

“They engaged the owner of the house in conversation and insisted on power washing the driveway at the front of the house,” said garda John Finnerty of Henry St garda station.

“The owner of the house did not permit them to do so, but they proceeded to power wash anyway.

“When it was completed, they demanded payment for the service.”

The homeowner refused to pay them and the conmen subsequently threatened her before leaving.

“Unfortunately we don’t have a proper description of them. If you have any information on this event, contact Henry St at 061 212400.”
