THE Ireland Funds, the global philanthropic network, has awarded funding to three organisations in Limerick. This essential funding will empower a wide array of programmes that provide vital services and strengthen communities.

The Limerick recipients of this year’s Heart of the Community Fund include Learning Hub Limerick, Narrative 4 Ireland and Irish Chamber Orchestra.

Learning Hub Limerick provides educational programmes in science, art, music, and digital skills for children and youth in Limerick and offers after-school support, camps, and community development initiatives. Narrative for Ireland uses storytelling to build empathy and connection among young people, offering facilitator training, school awards, and youth-led peacebuilding projects.

The Irish Chamber Orchestra combines world-class performances with community engagement.

The Heart of the Community Fund is awarding $750,000 to 62 organisations in 15 counties across the Republic of Ireland. Grants will range from €5,000 to €25,000. Made possible by generous philanthropic gifts and fundraising events of The Ireland Funds America, the largest of the 12 international chapters of The Ireland Funds, these grants exemplify the power of collective giving.

Caitriona Fottrell, President and CEO of The Ireland Funds, said: “We are delighted to announce the recipients of the Heart of the Community Fund 2025. These organisations represent the resilience, creativity, and commitment that strengthen communities across Ireland. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we can provide meaningful support that addresses the priorities and pressures facing the sector. This funding will help ensure these vital initiatives continue to make a real difference.”

The Heart of the Community Fund strategically supports non-profits under The Ireland Funds four funding pillars: Arts and Culture, Community Development, Education, and Peace and Reconciliation. This most recent grant round is focused on organisations engaging young people and their families in underserved communities, including through skill-building, employment supports, mental health services, and cultural programming.

This year's Heart of the Community Fund is a testament to the enduring commitment of The Ireland Funds and its supporters. By providing timely funding, these grants will enable non-profits to address pressing community needs and create a lasting impact on the lives of many.
