A BENEFIT greyhound night will be held in Dromcollogher later this summer to raise funds for the 100 year anniversary of the Cinema Disaster in Dromcollogher in 2026.
THE upcoming ‘Night at the Dogs’ will be launched in Dromcollogher Community Hall on Thursday, June 5 at 8pm.
Dromcollogher26, the group commemorating the Cinema Disaster, have secured the entire race card on August 16 at Limerick Greyhound Stadium for the cause.
Individuals and businesses have already come on board to sponsor each of the 11 races. They will be selling thousands of tickets to the fundraising event in the coming weeks.

'Dromcollogher26', intends to honour and preserve the memory of the 48 victims who died. The group are also researching the impact of 'The Burning' on the families of the victims and survivors.
The commemoration of the centenary of the cinema disaster will mark a very significant event that happened soon after the foundation of the Irish State. The tragedy in Dromcollogher shocked the nation. The leaders of the Irish State came to be with the people at the time.
