NOMINATIONS are now open for the 10th Limerick Garda Divisional Youth Awards, taking place in April.

Gardaí are urging people to nominate individuals, voluntary groups, schools and youth clubs or any other organisations that are worthy of recognition for positive contributions in their community for the awards.

“Limerick gardaí recognise that so many young people in every community throughout Limerick are involved in many positive activities,” said Sergeant Michelle O Halloran, crime prevention officer at Henry Street Garda Station.

“Not alone is it to acknowledge their volunteering work, it could be young people who are involved in fundraising activities or raising awareness of certain issues.

“It is also to acknowledge young people who have overcome personal challenges in their lives,” she said.
