AFTER 14 years smoothing the path for Polish people coming to Limerick, Lough Gur businessman Pat O’Sullivan has stepped down.
He will be replaced in the role of Honorary Consul for Poland in Limerick by city centre solicitor Ger O’Neill.
His inauguration into the position was celebrated with a ceremony in City Hall, attended by Mayor John Moran, and a number of other civic dignitaries, as well as Polish choir Cantate Deo, led by Anna Banko.

Ger says he is hoping to carry on the work that Pat has led for the last 14 years looking after the rights and interests of Polish citizens, and providing support in emergencies among other things.
He’d like to see Limerick people discover a bit more about some of the many Polish community groups across the county - and have the two peoples blend and learn from each other.
