The annual event is organised by Limerick Mental Health Association
LIMERICK Mental Health Association (LMHA) has announced the launch of the19th Annual Mental Health Week in Limerick.
Set to take place from October 7-13, this year's program aims to be the most impactful yet, featuring over 54 events organised in collaboration with 22 different local organisations.
These events are designed to promote positive mental health and foster community connections and compassion while providing valuable mental health resources to the people of Limerick City and County.
One of many “standout” events this year is the Flagship LMHA Family Fun Day, scheduled for Sunday, October 6, from 2:30-5:00pm at the Life Centre on Henry Street.
This event aims to give families an opportunity to come together and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon. Activities will include face painting, games, live music, tea, coffee and much more. It's a perfect day out for families of all ages and a great way to kick off Mental Health Week.
Another highlight is the Annual Choral Union Concert at St. John's Cathedral hosted by Malcolm Green on Friday, October 11, from 7:30pm.
This evening promises to be an inspiring celebration of music and community spirit. The event will feature performances by the Limerick Choral Union and six other local choirs, creating an uplifting atmosphere for all in attendance.
LMHA will be re-introducing the popular Family & Dog-Friendly Social at the Milk Market on Sunday, October 13, from 10am.
This unique gathering invites dog lovers and their furry friends to come together, connect, and celebrate the positive impact pets can have on mental health. Studies have shown that spending time with animals can reduce stress, increase feelings of happiness, and provide companionship, making this event a perfect way to conclude Mental Health Week.
Limerick Mental Health Week 2024 aims to involve every corner of Limerick city and county, with open doors from organisations across the city.
