Limerick sides looking to bounce back in crucial All-Ireland League fixtures

THE Energia All-Ireland League resumes this week with Limerick's seven senior clubs facing crucial fixtures.

In Division 1A, Young Munster will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when they host Nenagh Ormond at Tom Clifford Park on Saturday.

Munsters' recorded an impressive 29-19 victory over Terenure College last weekend, with winger Shay McCarthy touching down twice in their ten-point victory.

The win lifts Young Munster to 7th in the 1A table on 18 points, a tally they will be looking to add to when they host Nenagh Ormond on Saturday at 2pm.

In Division 1B, Garryowen travel to Woodleigh Park to face Highfield on Saturday at 2pm.

Garryowen will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's narrow loss to Naas in Dooradoyle.

The Limerick side were well in the game at the interval, trailing 14-12 but a strong second half showing from the Kildare side saw them over the line.

A win for Garryowen on Saturday will see them leap-frog their Highfield opponents in the 1B table, the Cork-based side sitting just two points ahead of their Munster rivals.

In Division 2A, it will be an all Limerick affair when Old Crescent and Shannon meet in Thomond Park on Friday night.
Both sides suffered heartbreaking defeats last weekend.

Old Crescent were defeated 20-18 by Dungannon in Takumi Park.

The home side were in the ascendency at half time, leading 11-3 but a strong second half display from the Tyrone men saw them over the line in a two-point win.

Shannon fell to a narrow three-point loss to Wanderers at Merrion Park.

The Limerick side trailed 15-12 at the break and were unable to make up the ground in he second half, eventually losing out on a scoreline of 25-22.

Kick-off in Thomond Park this Friday evening is at 7.30pm.

In Division 2B, UL Bohemian will be looking to build on what was a sensational second half performance against Malone in Gibson Park last weekend.

Bohs' almost staged the most miraculous of comebacks against Malone at Gibson Park.

Bohemians looked dead and buried at the break, trailing by 17 on a scoreline of 20-3.

The Limerick side showed plenty of fight in the second half but ultimately came up short on a scoreline of 30-29.

Bohs' welcome Enniscorthy to the University of Limerick on Saturday at 2.30pm.

It is another all Limerick affair in Division 2C this weekend when Bruff host Thomond at Kilballyowen Park.

Bruff took on Clonmel at Ard Gaoithe last weekend, losing on a scoreline of 22-20 at Ard Gaoithe.

Thomond's clash with with Midleton at Liam Fitzgerald Park was postponed.

Kick-off at Kilballyowen this Saturday is at 2.30pm.
