A MULTI-million euro budget movie which was partially filmed in Limerick is set to have its red carpet European premiere hosted in the city.
The critically acclaimed Todd Komarnicki film Bonhoeffer, inspired by the life and legacy of theologian and anti-Nazi dissident Dietrich Bonhoeffer, is being shown for the first time in Europe at The Belltable.
Ahead of its cinematic release date in Ireland and the UK on March 7, an exclusive viewing will take place in Limerick city, which served as the backdrop for the film's scenic landscape along with parts of Clare and Tipperary.
In 2023, when the €22m film was being shot, locations throughout Limerick were transformed into 1940s Germany.
The release of the Irish-Belgian co-produced film on March 7 coincides with the 80th anniversary year of the end of WWII and Bonhoeffer's (God's Spy) birthday.
