There will be no official turning on of the Christmas lights in Limerick city

LIMERICK City & County Council has confirmed that there will be no event to mark the turning on of the Christmas lights in Limerick city for the third year in a row.

When contacted by Limerick Live, a representative for Limerick City & County Council said:

“There will be no official turning on of the Christmas lights in Limerick city this year and instead, there will be a light procession parade on December 1.”

They added that further information about Christmas in Limerick 2024 will be released in due course.

Previously, around €100,000 would have been allocated for the one-off event to celebrate the turning on of the lights.
