Striolán Bridge is located at the landmark known as the "Three Counties Boundary"
A proposed funding request for the area known as the “Meeting of the Three Counties” was brought forward at the monthly meeting of the Newcastle West Municipal District.
Cllr Michael Collins highlighted the unique location where Limerick, Kerry, and Cork converge, near Mountcollins, Brosna, and Rockchapel, describing it as a scenic spot with untapped tourism potential.

Cllr Collins suggested that each of the three local authorities contribute €10,000 to develop the area as an amenity and visitor attraction. He noted that the picturesque location, with its natural beauty and symbolic significance, could be enhanced with signage and seating to draw both locals and tourists.
The investment would help too revitalise a rural border area that often goes unnoticed despite its charm. The proposal is expected to be further explored in discussions between the three county councils.
