Fashion for Model School

Fashion for Model School

WHEN parents and teachers get together for a project the results are often fantastic and this was the case with An Mhodhscoil’s Winter Wonderland fashion fundraiser.

The parents who supported the event, the raffle, the programme and the sponsors raised an incredible €22,580. This will go towards the continued development of An Mhodhscoil, including four new class rooms and a new playground area.

Catriona Tierney hosted the evening with Lorcan Murray of RTE’s Lyric FM and both were superb. The Holman Lee models looked amazing in fashions from local Limerick city and county stores and were joined by students, staff and parents, who did a great job.

Actress Aoibhin Garrihy took time out from her busy schedule from this year’s UCH panto to award the best dressed prize and the winner was Sandra Linnane and the best dressed man was Rob Bowe.

One of the highlights for me were the children from an Mhodhscoil who sang, danced and modelled their way through the show. They were an absolute credit to this wonderful school where my two children attended some years ago.

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you to the parents and the fashion show committee. Congratulations to you all for a wonderful event.

Hi Magazine Awards

THE Clayton Hotel events centre at Silver Springs Hotel in Cork was style central for the Hi Magazine Awards. Male model Edwin Fitzgibbon of the Holman Lee Agency won Hi Magazine’s Male Model of the Year Award 2016, which we were all very delighted and proud of. Limerick scored again with the win of the Most Stylish Lady Award by Catwalk Hair and Beauty owner Neisha Leahy. Yours truly won an award for style, devotion and the training of some of Ireland’s top models in Ireland. My good friend and last year’s winner of Most Stylish Woman, Elizabeth Mangan, looked fantastic on the evening. It was a great night hosted by Hi Magazine publisher Michael Mulcahy.

Note for your diary: The Mid-West Bridal Exhibition 2017 is back bigger and better on Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8, 2017 in the University of Limerick Sports Arena and Exhibition Hall. We are already looking ahead to it so make sure you jot it down in your diary.
