It was a dominant performance from 'The Well' who dominated proceedings from the very first minute in Ennis on Sunday afternoon.
Róisín O' Brien got the first score of the game via a free inside the first minute but her effort was cancelled out four minutes later when Caoimhe McDonnell levelled proceedings.
The west Limerick side began to show a ruthless streak in front of goal for the remainder of the half. Points from the Leah O'Carroll, Ciara Barry and Rachel O'Grady (x2) had Limerick Intermediate champions 0-5 to 0-1 ahead after 10 minutes.
A Ciara Grogan free brought Clooney Quin to within three points of their opponents but the east Clare side were struggling to create any chances of note, with some excellent defensive work on display from the likes of Sarah Carey and Tara Kirby.
Patrickswell were unfortunate not to be further ahead mid-way through the opening half when Sophie Carey was adjudged to have been in the square for an effort which ended up in the back of the Clooney Quin net.
An audacious flick by Leah O'Carroll found the full-forward but after referee Johnny Dooley consulted with his umpires, the decision was made to overturn the decision.
Róisín O'Brien pointed for the visitors minutes later from a free to stretch her side's lead to four before the first goal of the day was scored in the 21st minute.
Sheena Byrne poked the sliotar home for Clooney Quin after a Ciara Grogan free landed just short of Sarah Gillane's goalmouth and the lively corner-forward was quickest to react.
Patrickswell responded in the bets possible way less than a minute later. Ciara Barry, who was a real threat throughout, rifled an effort low, into the back of the net after an impressive solo run.
Grogan added another free for the Clare side before the conclusion of the half and the sides went in 1-6 to 1-3 at the break.
Patrickswell signaled their intent two minutes into the second half when Ciara Barry found Sophie Carey who blasted home from close range to give her side a 2-6 to 1-3 lead.
Clooney Quinn would not register a score for the next 18 minutes of the half as Patrickswell began to really assert their dominance on proceedings.
Points from Róisín O'Brien (x2), who was flawless all afternoon from placed balls, Sarah Fitzgerald and Rachel O'Grady (x3), stretched the 'The Well' advantage to twelve before a Ciara Grogan pointed effort stopped the rot for the Clare side, leaving the score at 2-12 to 1-4 with ten minutes to go.
Just as they did in the first half, the Patrickswell defensive unit performed admirably to keep the Clooney Quin threat to a minimum.
This defensive effort paired with the ruthlessness shown by the Limerick side's forwards, meant that their Clare hosts simply could not live with them on the day.
Points from Leah O'Carroll, and Róisín O'Brien concluded the scoring on the day for Patrickswell before Sheena Byrne grabbed a late consolation point foe her side to leave the final score at 2-15 to 1-5.
Referee Johnny Dooley blew for full-time, the sound of the whistle met with jubilant scenes in Cusack Park on what was a historic day for the east Limerick club.
