Limerick looks to improve IBAL ranking

A CALL has gone out for people across Limerick to submit photographs of littered spots in the county, as part of a campaign to alert the local authority.

In the last Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) league, published in January, Newcastle West and Limerick City were celebrating after securing ‘litter free’ status in the survey.

Now, in a bid to ensure the areas remain clean in the summer survey, IBAL has called on people across Limerick to take part in its ‘litter twitter’ scheme.

As part of this campaign, people are invited to submit photos by mobile phone of litter blackspots in their neighbourhood to alert local authorities to litter-ridden areas locally.

Photos can be emailed to [email protected] and can be followed at twitter.com/litterspotter.
