ALL-STAR Limerick hurler Dan Morrissey led a panel of guest speakers at an entrepreneurs' meet-up event in Newcastle West.
The Ahane man addressed more than 100 of Ireland's top business people at the All-Ireland Business Foundation event in the Longcourt House Hotel.
Mr Morrissey is a senior tax manager with the drinks firm C&C group, and he addressed those present on how he balanced his busy professional life and the inter-county hurling set up.
A number of local businesses were represented, including Treaty Software, located in the Engine Hub in the city centre, Rayn Security and Safety based at Dock Road, and Abbeyfeale firm Kyotech.

Asked how he balances sport and business, Mr Morrissey said: "At this stage, it’s probably just the lifestyle - 12 months of the year. People on the team are accountable for themselves. If you want to play inter-county, you have to mind yourself all year. Nutrition and sleep are probably two of the most important things.”
His chat was followed by a panel discussion, with other local business voices sharing insights on scaling, innovation, and remaining competitive in today’s business landscape.

The entrepreneurs' meet-up in Limerick is part of a national effort to support and recognise excellence in Irish business.
While Dan Morrissey will hope to be part of the Limerick hurling panel playing in an All-Ireland final at Croke Park later this summer, the All-Ireland Business Foundation will be there in just a few weeks.
GAA headquarters is playing host to the All-Ireland entrepreneurs summit on Friday, May 30.
Kapil Khanna, managing director of the foundation praised the energy in Newcastle West.
“This event shows what’s possible when passionate people come together. We are so proud of our Business All-Stars – they are driving Irish enterprise forward, setting new standards for excellence, and it’s especially exciting to see that energy and innovation coming from Limerick, a city that continues to lead with ambition and community spirit," he said.
Dr Briga Hynes, of the Kemmy Business School at University of Limerick added: "Entrepreneurs are at the heart of Limerick’s economy. Events like this strengthen our community and help drive growth right here in the region.”
Elaine Carroll, the foundation's chief executive added: “This meet-up was about action. Our entrepreneurs left with strategies and connections that can help them take their businesses to the next level.”
