A MAJOR event aimed at the owners of small to medium sized enterprises takes place in Limerick this Thursday.

Dell Technologies’ campus at the Raheen Industrial Estate will this Thursday host the Limerick IT summit.

It’s aimed at small firm owners who are trying to develop their company’s digital footprint.

It’s the brainchild of Christopher Heaney of Rosbrien Road-based internet design company, WebDev Builders in conjunction with data storage company DSM, located in Annacotty and its chief executive Andrew Clohessy.

More than 20 other IT providers are involved in organising the inaugural summit across the last two months.

And the half-day event will see speakers including Limerick Chamber chief executive Michelle Gallagher, Mayor John Moran and social media heavyweight Samantha Kelly, who dubs herself ‘The Tweeting Goddess’.

Thirty businesses in the sector will also showcase their products and services.

Mr Heaney said: “The Limerick IT Summit bridges the gap between Limerick’s thriving tech talent and local small to medium sized enterprises, empowering businesses to navigate their digital journeys.”
He said the day represents a “safe space” for “collaboration, innovation, and growth”.

“This is more than just an event - it’s a major stepping stone for Limerick’s digital future,” he added.

Mr Clohessy said: “When Chris Heaney of WebDevBuilders approached me with the idea of an IT summit and getting involved, it was a no-brainer. Our own journey at DSM to enhance our digital posture and service offerings is driven by the evolving digital business landscape and we believe in the power of community to navigate these changes together, so the IT Summit concept resonated deeply.”

Admission to the summit is free but visitors must be registered on Eventbrite.

The organisers have said entry will be denied to those who are not registered ticket holders.

Also sponsoring the event are Talos Data Consulting, Treaty Software, Pak IT, WrxFlo, Incorpro and DGD Shredding.
