A CROOM businessman is back in the winners’ enclosure with two more industry awards.
Padraig Broderick, who runs Spar in the town, was successful at this year’s Checkout National Grocery Awards, which were held in Dublin.
These accolades highlight best in class performance in retailing and honour those who help Ireland’s pioneering stores and retail outlets achieve levels of service and product excellence that set them apart from their competitors.

Broderick’s Spar won retail store of the year, small supermarket, for the second year in a row.
Mr Broderick was also presented with a ‘Best Food to Go’ offering award.
Spar sales director Colin Donnelly said: “These two national awards are terrific recognition for Padraig and all the team in Broderick’s Spar Croom. For the second successive year this terrific Spar store has been acknowledged on the national stage. I want to offer my wholehearted congratulations to Padraig and his team in Spar Croom. They are great champions for the Spar brand.”
The National Grocery Retail Awards are one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the Irish grocery retail calendar and those honoured are recognised as being true industry standard bearers.
