The city is no longer considered ‘Clean to European Norms’, and instead is deemed ‘moderately littered’.
An Taisce, which carries out the survey on behalf of IBAL, singled out areas at the corner of Lower Mallow Street, Henry Street, Rice’s Corner and the 1916 memorial for improvement.
However, there was praise for Merchant’s Quay, the Potato Market Car Park, Bedford Row and King John’s Castle.
Only Dublin, Tallaght and Farranree in Cork were considered as being dirtier than Limerick, according to the report.
Kilkenny sits on top of the league.
