IT IS likely to be a Great Friday if weather predictions are anything to go by, as Limerick is expected to experience the hottest day of the year so far.
Temperatures are expected to reach a sweltering 22 degrees by 3pm, according to Met Eireann.
According to other meteorological reports, Limerick is expected to be warmer than most parts of mainland Europe and some parts of northern Africa.
Temperatures will dip to 10 degrees by Friday night, but warm conditions are expected to continue until Monday.
Met Eireann says it will be partly cloudy for most of Friday, followed by cloudy spells on Saturday and Sunday.
Clement conditions are due to persist until Wednesday when Limerick is likely to experience light rainfall.
