LIMERICK'S Sarah Lavin is one step closer to claiming at medal at the Paris Olympics after gaining a direct spot in the semi-finals of the women's 100m hurdles.

The Emerald AC athlete claimed second place in her heat on Wednesday morning running a 12.73 time to book her place in tomorrow's semi's.

The semi-finals of the event take place tomorrow, Friday at 11:05am Irish Time at the Stade de France Arena. 

Here is everything you need to know about the event:

EVENT: 100m hurdles 

WHEN: Friday, August 9

TIME: 11:05am Irish Time

WHERE: Stade de France Arena

WHERE TO WATCH: RTÉ 2 or RTÉ Player 

FINAL OF EVENT: Saturday, August 10 at 18:35pm
