Lavin, who will become a two-time Olympian during the Paris Olympics will be competing in the 100m hurdles on Wednesday, August 7 at 9:15am. Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy on the other hand tee off on Sunday, August 4 from 8am.
Sarah spoke to Team Ireland about the incredible honour of being chosen as Ireland's flag bearer saying: "I am so grateful to those who have trusted me and put me in this position, and yeah it's emotional as well. There is no point in denying that because there is a lot of people you are representing on the biggest sporting stage and I guess it's a testament to all the hard work you have put in"
