Christmas was certainly on its way this week when Brown Thomas officially launched their Christmas window display with the help of some of Santa’s elves.
The O’Connell Street department store, which opened its Christmas shop in August, had its front store windows transformed over a two-week period to unveil its festive design based on Irish legends. With fewer than 50 shopping days to go Brown Thomas display manager Val Holmes said that the Christmas window has always played an important part in the run up to the holiday season.
“The window display at Brown Thomas has become a focal point in Limerick and many people come into the city just to see the display,” enthused Mr Holmes.
“We used to have animation windows for years but we’ve changed it this year to keep things new and different,” he said, before adding that Santa Claus has also announced that he will visit the O’Connell Street department store in the first week of December to meet the children of Limerick but will have to leave the day before Christmas Eve to prepare for the busy days ahead.
