LIMERICK FC secured a 1-1 draw with UCD Waves in the Continental Tyres FAI Women's National League at the Markets Field on Sunday.
UCD took a deserved lead in the opening half through Avril Brierly before Limerick fought back in the second half as Rebecca Horgan slotted home from close-range.
Horgan's goal gave Limerick a new lease of life as they took the game to UCD for the next 15 minutes, but the visitors did finish the game strongly.
A superb performance from Limerick goalkeeper Trish Fennelly along with some defensive clearances from Marie Curtin ensured that Dave Rooney's home side held on for a vital point, in a bid to secure a spot in the top half of the table.
Limerick FC are now within three points of table toppers Peamount United.
