Collectors called to Limerick card swap party

Castletroy Park Hotel to play host to first-of-its-kind event
CARD collectors are being called to Castletroy for an event being organised by a Kildimo man.
Gerard Burke is hosting an Irish Card Party trading card and collector event at the Castletroy Park Hotel on Sunday, September 20, 2026 from 10am to 5pm.
More than 30 card vendors from around the country will attend the event.
They will be joined by artists and hobby creators, while people in costume are welcome throughout the event.
A special giveaway prize will be awarded for the best dressed on the day.
Organiser Gerard believes it’s the first time a card swap event of this kind has come to Limerick.
Uniquely, he is dedicating the first hour for families attending with children who may have additional sensory needs.
"The reason I am doing this is because my own little fella, who is six, has autism. Bringing him to different shows, or even to the cinema, sometimes he can struggle with the noises, the lighting and the crowd. I want him to be part of the show, and kids like him, to not struggle and enjoy it too,” he explained.
Gerard is a keen card collector, has travelled to events like these across Ireland, and said he realised Limerick was missing out which is why he organised this.
Numbers are limited for this first hour, while a second hour, allowing for early entry to the show, is sold out.
Other tickets are on sale from €5, with the event taking place from 10am until 5pm.
