Blindboy brings live podcast to Limerick

BLINDBOY will captivate Limerick with a live podcast this February.
The Blindboy podcast is a storytelling podcast in the Irish tradition of the Seanchaí. Seamlessly intertwining history, fiction, cultural critique and politics into a relaxing form the author calls the podcast hug.
From Toronto, to London, to Sydney, Blindboys live podcasts are consistently sold out affairs where he captivates his audiences in a quietened intimate atmosphere.
Drawing from his years of live performance experience, Blindboy can make a crowd of 1200 feel as though they are in a small room with only a handful of others.
He reads from his book, and he speaks with a guest. It is not an interview, but rather an intimate chat which seeks to replicate a private conversation in a public space through the language of theatre.
These live shows are spontaneously endearing and heartwarmingly engaging, there’s usually something in here for everyone to enjoy.
Sometimes he may have a guest who is a person with an interesting life story to tell, and other times he might interview a person who is an expert in their field.
Notable past guests are Spike Lee, Bernadette Devlin and authors Kevin Barry and Roddy Doyle.
With humble beginnings as a short term tool to promote his first book, over the past two years this podcast has grown to international success with listnerships reaching one million per month.
Blindboy is a best selling author of fiction, who has written two collections of short stories. He has over a decade of experience writing for television, having made shows for BBC, ITV, Channel 4, MTV and RTE.
He is also a songwriter, musician and producer with his group the Rubberbandits, who have amassed over 100 million YouTube views and have toured the world as a theatre act. The Blindboy podcast is the creative summation of all these experiences.
Presented by Dolans, the show will take place in the Lime Tree Theatre on February 2.
