TREATY United's hope of reaching the play-offs have suffered a major setback. Wexford FC defeated Treaty United 3-1 in Markets Field on Friday night.
Manager Tommy Barrett was frustrated with the manner of the goals his side conceeded in the second half.
"I thought we were good in the first 60 minutes. After that it was poor last 30 minutes. We conceded some silly goals, sloppy goals to be honest. They're the top scorers in the league for a reason and they have the firepower. In the last 30 minutes they were the better team" said Barrett
Treaty will now need a string of victories and hope that other teams around them drop points if the Shannonsiders are to reach the play-offs.
"They're difficult but it was always an outside chance anyways. Before tonight it was an outside chance. We'll keep plugging away and we'll keep on fighting and see can we get a few results between now and the end of the season."
Treaty United face an away trip against Bray Wanderers next Friday at 7:45pm in the Carlisle Grounds.
After the game, Leader Sport spoke with Treaty United manager Tommy Barrett.
