FAUGHEEN was the toast of punters on the opening day of the Limerick Christmas Racing Festival in 2019 when landing the featured Matchbook Betting Exchange Novice Chase at Greenmount Park.
Eleven-year-old Faugheen rolled back the years to add a Grade One triumph over fences to his list of major achievements when getting the better of another star name in Samcro.
Faugheen ran out a 10-length winner of the prized contest under a confident ride from Patrick Mullins, much to the delight of the racegoers who packed the enclosures at Greenmount Park.
Ahead of the latest Mr Binman Limerick Christmas Racing Festival, Dave Keena caught up with winning rider Mullins to look back on that memorable 2019 success at Patrickswell.
