WATCH: St Munchin's coach praises 'serious operators' after Junior Cup win

Oscar Madden, Hamza Awaga (2) and Elliot Stokes scored the tries in the 26-5 win over CBC

THERE were scenes of great joy and celebration as St Munchin's College won the Munster Schools Junior Cup, defeating CBC 26-5 in Wednesday's final replay.

The Limerick school were full value for the win, with Oscar Madden, Hamza Awaga (2) and Elliot Stokes scoring the tries.

“Honestly, the feeling is relief because we played well," said Munchin's coach James O'Neill after the game.

“We didn’t do ourselves justice the last day, we got away with it with the 12-all draw in Cork, we sneaked it basically and my big worry was we wouldn’t play. You don’t mind whether you winning or losing as long as you play - and we really played today, I’m really proud of them.

“Set piece is huge for us,” he said. “There’s some serious operators there, they love it."
