ST PATRICK'S Day is a celebration of community and Kilmallock's parade epitomised that.
The grand marshall was Hanna Costello who has served for over forty five years as the sacristan in Kilmallock Church. Hanna led the way in an open top car and was followed by an array of floats and displays from local sporting clubs and organisations.
One of the most moving was a giant Ukrainian flag with the people proudly holding it up thanking the town for their generosity. A group of young children also promoted friendship written on a giant banner.
Five participants dressed as giant beer bottles and six foot leprechauns added to the fun and enjoyment.

The threatening clouds stayed away and the town was alive to the sound of cheering, Kilmallock Fire Service's sirens and the roar of tractor engines.
It was the first parade of little Lexie Mae O'Reilly who was all decked out with green and white ribbons in her hair. It won't be her last parade in Kilmallock.
