LIMERICK will once again host elite international tennis this weekend as Ireland’s Davis Cup team face Syria in a crucial World Group II Play-off this Saturday and Sunday at the University of Limerick.
More than 2,000 spectators are expected to attend the prestigious international tie.
Adding to the local interest is the fact that the Ireland side is captained by local man Conor Niland, while another Limerick native Charlie Barry has been included in the Team Ireland squad.
Following the electric atmosphere of Ireland’s memorable clash with Austria in 2024, the arena is expected to once again be transformed into a sea of green as fans gather to support the home side in a fixture that could prove pivotal in Ireland’s Davis Cup journey.
