LIMERICK senior hurling manager John Kiely has praised his side as they 'fought valiantly' to secure the Munster SHC win over Waterford.
"I'm pleased with that performance because there was a huge challenge and we met quite a lot of resistance and there were a few conundrums we had to sort out along the way," said Kiely after the 0-30 to 2-21 win in the TUS Gaelic Grounds this Saturday evening.
Limerick were seven points clear when Waterford struck two quick-fire goal in the final 10-minutes.
Kiely said that the Limerick response to the goals was crucial.
"This team is very experienced now and when teams have their purple patch, I would back our lads to keep their heads and cope with that and that's exactly what they did - they didn't panic and kept doing the right things with the ball," said the Limerick manager.
Speaking with media after the three point win, Kiely lauded his for battling valiantly.
