WATCH: John the Baptist Harty Cup manager Michael Martin: 'Your destiny is in your own hands'

John The Baptist Community school defeated Doon in round two of the Harty Cup this afternoon

"It's a winner takes all in round three, you can't ask for anymore. Your destiny is in your own hands, everything to play for and we look forward to that in two weeks. I'm happy for the lads in particular they have been a great bunch to work with, attitude is really good which is what we always look for in Hospital. I'm just looking forward to two weeks time and giving it out best," John The Baptist Harty Cup manager Michael Martin told Leader Sport. 

John The Baptist Community School, Hospital recorded a 2-14 to 1-9 victory over Scoil Na Tríonóide Naofa, Doon in round two of the Dr Harty Cup this afternoon in Kilmallock GAA Grounds.

The Hospital school raced into a lead early in the first half and the victors were able to hold onto their lead as they held on for a eight point victory in the Limerick derby between the schools. 

John The Baptist Community School will battle it out for a place in the knockout stages against Blackwater Community School in two weeks time.

Michael Martin's side were full value for the victory and despite missing Limerick U20 hurler Diarmuid Hurley and Rian McNamara through injury they showed enough quality to get their first win in the Harty Cup this year. 

After Hospital's victory over Doon, manager Michael Martin caught up with Leader Sport.
