WATCH: Garryspillane captain Colin Ryan: 'I can't even put it into words'

Garryspillane dramatically defeated Effin after a penalty shootout in the Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling final

"There was a photo up there during the week, my father and my two uncles when they lifted the Daly Cup in 2005, we would have looked up to them for years, they are idols in Garryspillane. And to be to able to emulate them some bit and to go up the steps and collect the Cup for Garryspillane, I can't even put it into words," said Garryspillane captain Colin Ryan.

GARRYSPILLANE were crowned Lyons of Limerick County Premier Intermediate hurling champions after they defeated Effin 3-0 in a penalty shootout at the TÚS Gaelic Grounds on Sunday afternoon. Three penalties from Dylan O'Shea, Ciaran Sheehan and Hugh Flanagan saw Garryspillane win the penalty shooutout, while Nickie Quaid and Patrick O'Donovan's penalties were saved by Garryspillane's goalkeeper Adam Sheehan and their third penalty from Effin goalkeeper from Ryan O'Neill hit the post.

The victors return to senior hurling after suffering relegation from senior ranks in 2023 and have went one step further than last year after they came up short in last year's PIHC final against Newcastle West.
