Na Piarsaigh ran out comfortable 2-26 to 2-14 winners in Claughaun on Saturday

NA PIARSAIGH had a comfortable 2-26 to 2-14 victory over Patrickswell in round five of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship in Claughaun on Saturday afternoon to book their place into the semi-finals of the championship.

Saturday's clash was a dead rubber given, before a sliotar was pucked, Na Piarsaigh had already booked their place in the semi-finals of this year's Limerick SHC with Patrickswell already suffering relegation into group two of the SHC.  

Those permutations did not stop both teams from giving spectators an entertaining opening half of hurling.

Na Piarsaigh went in seven points to the good at the break, 2-13 to 2-06 but a sending off on the stroke of half-time for Patrickwell's Thomas O'Brien gave Na Piarsaigh the foundation build on that lead with relative ease in the second half. 

Na Piarsaigh ran out 2-26 to 2-14 winners and after the match Leader Sports' Oisín Nolan caught up with Na Piarsaigh coach Thomas Downes.
