"This group are fantastic to work with, I was gone with other clubs for seven years there to learn a bit and bring it back here. I'm very fortunate that the club has given me a chance. Now is the right time to come back in, they're a super group. It's a joy to work with them really, outside of the quality of hurling, it's the quality of young men aswell," said Na Piarsaigh coach Thomas Downes after their victory over Ahane.
Thomas Downes has replaced John Fitzgerald as coach of the Na Piarsaigh senior hurling team this year. Na Piarsaigh defeated 2-25 to 1-13 in round three of the Whitebox Limerick senior hurling championship.
Na Piarsaigh had an impressive spread of scorers with eight different players getting their name on the socreboard. Shane O'Neill's side sit on top of the table in group one of the Limerick SHC on five points.
Na Piarsaigh face Kilmallock in round four of the Limerick SHC on Saturday evening in Mick Neville Park at 6pm.
