WATCH: Limerick Voice is back in UL 'with stories that speak'

AFTER six long months, University of Limerick’s (UL) student-led publication Limerick Voice is back.

This year, the award-winning publication is comprised of over 30 reporters from the Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts journalism courses at the UL.

For the next academic year the students will be bringing you the latest stories in news, sport, music, arts, culture, and business.

The dynamic Limerick Voice team will be available on all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and of course, the Limerick Voice website.

The team released a launch video which showcases the senior members.

Inspired by their mission statement ‘stories that speak’, it was filmed in the heart of Limerick city, to show their readers that they are out on the ground in full force.

As always, the Limerick Voice aims to promote homegrown talent, with music from Treaty City artists such as Dylan Flynn and the Dead Poets who are featured in the video.

Featured in the launch video is Editor-in-Chief Joe Drennan, Managing Editor Molly Cantwell, Sports Editor Corey O’Brien, Podcast Editor Lauren Beirne, Features Editor Joe Costigan, Breaking News Editor Nicola Flynn, Business Correspondent Oisin White, and reporters Síofra Grant and Gemma Good.

Molly Cantwell said; “As managing editor, I’m excited to be bringing news out as rapidly as possible to the people of my home city, scheduling interviews, commissioning articles, working closely with a fantastic team, and so much more.”

Joe Drennan added; “I’m delighted to have been appointed editor-in-chief and I am really looking forward to leading the editorial direction of the publication, with a focus on uplifting unheard voices in the Limerick community. This year my main goal for the paper is fostering understanding around social issues in the county, as well as improving access to our site.”
