RTÉ star Ryan Tubridy visited the University of Limerick campus this Tuesday to meet students and staff at an event ahead of a live broadcast of his radio show on Wednesday morning.
Ryan turns 50 on Sunday and fittingly visited UL as the institution is celebrating its own fiftieth anniversary this year.
Ryan, who will present his last Late Late Show on Friday night, spoke to staff and students and heard performances by students and faculty at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance - one of whom Sarbik Guha composed a song for Ryan called Beacon of Light.
A student on the MA Creative Writing programme Elaine Kiely also composed three Limericks for Ryan to mark the occasion.
The event took place at the Glucksman Library and Ryan also visited Special Collections where he viewed some of the unique material that is kept in the archive.
The Ryan Tubridy Show comes live from the UL campus this Wednesday morning.
It starts at 9am on RTÉ Radio 1.
