THE University of Limerick Winter Conferrings are taking place all this week on campus.
More than 2,400 students will make the walk down the steps of the University Concert Hall to get a scroll, marking the end of an era.
Students and their families have been making the trip to the Treaty County, while classmates got together as a group for one last time.
Two of those who graduated this Tuesday were friends Sheila and Amy. Both are currently working as nurses but lapped up their time as students in UL.
“Loved it, we came back as mature students, it was very good, lots of support, lots of friendships made,” Amy said.
Lisnagry mother of three, Siobhan, graduated with a Masters in Guidance Counselling and Life Span Development and says her time in the University was “absolutely fantastic”.
Mark, who lives in Limerick, graduated with a Masters in Public Health and is going to use his education to make a difference.
“Now, I’ll look for better opportunities, make an impact on society as much as possible” he said.

Caherdavin native, Leah, collected her scroll from her Midwifery Degree, the same year that UL celebrates its 50th anniversary.
“I’m working in the labour ward in the maternity in Limerick. I had a great four years (in UL) and it was in the hospitals as well,” she added.
Ian, who graduated with a Masters in Journalism has spent five years in the University and while being a Cork man, adored his time in the home of the reigning All-Ireland Hurling Champions.
“The people really, its five years I did in Limerick, you couldn’t get me out of here, I loved everything about it, the people, the craic and everything, nights out, I loved all of it” he concluded.
