PALLASGREEN FESTIVAL: Pallasgreen Festival 2013 proved a big success last weekend. The festival kicked off with a Monster Bingo in the Community Centre where a big crowd were in attendance. Thursday night an evening market took place in the field with the three Mayoral candidates busy selling their products. Friday evening proved a busy one, the Minor hurlers were busy battling for honours against St Michaels In the field which they duly obliged. Just around the corner a Skittles competition attracted a lot of teams and this was contested very competitively .The highlight of the evening was the first ever Truck Pull and a large crowd gathered in anticipation of who was going to pull the truck the fastest on the road. When the truck was in place The whistle greeted the start and the crowd roared great encouragement for the brave participants, it was the team with the best start and rhythm was always going to take the title. Following the Truck Pull it was a trek to O’Dwyer’s Bar and an evening at the Races for Aoife Fanning mayoral campaign. This was a great nights entertainment and some people came away with an extra few bob in their pocket.
