WATCH: Cian Lynch looks ahead to Munster SHC Final with Cork

LIMERICK senior hurling captain Cian Lynch says it is a 'massive privilege' to get to play in yet another Munster Hurling Final.

Cian Lynch and Limerick are preparing to play in their eighth Munster decider in a row against a Cork side who have already gotten the better of them this season.

The Rebels managed to eke out a two-point win over John Kiely's charges at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, running out 2-22 to 1-23 winners in April.

That triumph for Ben O’Connor’s side made it back-to-back championship wins for Cork over Limerick following last year’s epic Munster Final at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Limerick were hoping to land their seventh Munster title in-a-row last June at a sun soaked Gaelic Grounds but it was the visitors who left with the Mick Mackey Cup after extra-time and penalties were needed to separate the pair.

With the sides level at 1-30 to 2-27, the tie went to a penalty shoot-out where Cork prevailed on a score line of 3-2, winning their first provincial title since 2018.

Despite playing in what will be the team’s eight Munster decider in-a-row, captain Cian Lynch says the feeling surrounding a final is still ‘huge.’
