LIMERICK senior hurling star Aidan O’Connor is expected to miss Ballybrown’s crucial Whitebox Senior Hurling Championship clash with Na Piarsaigh.

O’Connor an All-Ireland winner with John Kiely’s men, was absent for Ballybrown’s 0-20 draw with Monaleen on Saturday afternoon.

It is believed that O’Connor picked up a serious hand injury during their Round 2 victory over Ahane. O’Connor also missed their defeat to Kilmallock.

The Round 5 clashes in Group 1 are expected to take place on the weekend starting Thursday, September 17 meaning O’Connor is in a race against time to be fit.

However, hopes are high in the city division club that their main attacker will be able to feature in the knock-out stages of the championship should they progress.
