Sunday will be a third county senior final for the experienced whistler - after he oversaw the 2024 and 2019 deciders. Ironically on both of these occasions, Na Piarsaigh ended up on the losing side, to Patrickswell and Doon respectively.
The game takes place at 3.45pm.
Earlier that day in the Lyons of Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship, Kieran Guina will take charge of the south derby between near neighbours Bruff and Dromin-Athlacca. The Feohanagh-Castlemahon man is no stranger to the big occasion and refereed last year’s senior decider.
There are three big finals on Saturday. The Nick Grene Sportsground Intermediate Hurling Championship final takes place in Mick Neville Park at 5pm as Bruree take on Knockaderry. Jonathan Hayes of St Senan’s will have the whistle in Rathkeale.
The Woodlands House Hotel Premier Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship between Caherline and Doon (Saturday 1pm in Cappamore) will be taking charge by Mike Sexton (Bruree), while Claughaun’s Liam O’Sullivan is the man in the middle for the Woodlands House Hotel Junior ‘A’ final. In Newcastle West at 2pm, Monagea take on Killeedy.
