The Liam MacCarthy Cup is coming back to Shannonside after a clinical performance from John Kiely’s Limerick side, who ran out resounding 1-29 to 1-18 winners over Galway at Croke Park
The victory, Limerick’s 13th, seals a historic, flawless clean sweep of silverware this season. Having already captured the Munster League, the Allianz National League, and the Munster SHC title, the Treaty men saved their most complete performance for the biggest stage of all.
As captain Cian Lynch raised the Liam MacCarthy cup aloft on the steps of the Hogan Stand, there was an eruption of noise from the tens of thousands of fans who attended the final.
Below, we rate the Limerick players out of 10 for their unforgettable performances at Croke Park.

1. Nickie Quaid (7)
A relatively quiet game for the Effin man in comparison to other outings this season. His puckouts were top class as usual and he had no chance of stopping Conor Cooney’s late penalty | Sportsfile

2. Sean Finn (8)
Another great day for Finn in Croke Park. Was detailed to mark the dangerous Jason Rabbitte after others struggled and nullified him in the second half completely. | Sportsfile

3. Mike Casey (7)
Found Rabbitte hard to handle early on but improved as the game reached the second half. Excelled as the free man in the Limerick full back line before being replaced by Dan Morrissey. | Sportsfile

4. Barry Nash (9)
His best performance of 2026. Was brilliant defensively and helped launch Limerick attacks from deep. Linked up well with Kyle Hayes down the left hand side and bookmarked the performance with a trademark point. | Sportsfile
