Freed from Desire: Limerick hurlers go shirtless as epic bar celebration goes viral

The players and everyone in the crowd made sure to soak up that winning feeling that we’ve all been missing

THE LIMERICK hurlers partied the night away after their homecoming, standing on bar tops to dance to all the hits.

With House Limerick their venue of choice, they celebrated their All-Ireland win by singing along to the classics with their supporters.

The Cranberries’ Dreams was of course on the playlist, with the gathered crowds cheering and climbing on friends’ shoulders in a scene of pure jubilation.

It became a Coldplay / Limerick hurlers concert then, with Viva La Vida playing as confetti shot out of cannons into the crowd.

The tops then came off, and the hurlers declared they were Freed from Desire - the Liam MacCarthy is all theirs once more!

It wouldn’t be a Limerick hurler night out without King of the Road blaring over the speakers.

As several players sang along from their position on top of the bar, Kyle Hayes, whose performance of the tune went viral after winning the Munster GAA Senior Hurling Final, took to the dance floor.

The hurlers wanted to make sure no one had any doubt who won this year’s All-Ireland, belting it out to We Are the Champions.

The players and everyone in the crowd made sure to soak up that winning feeling that we’ve all been missing the last few years.

It feels good to be back!
