IT WAS a dark day for Limerick sides in the men’s All-Ireland League with only one side tasting victory from seven games.

Bruff were the victorious team from the Limerick sides in action with a 19-15 victory against Dolphin in their game at Kilballyowen Park.

In Division 1A, Young Munster remain in 10th place following a 36-26 defeat to Lansdowne at Tom Clifford Park.

The Cookies can take some solace after registering four tries in defeat. They now have two wins from their five games in the AIL.

Munster’s made a fine start to the game thanks to a try from scrum half Brock Gallagher. Benn Dalle Court nailed the conversion to put them 7-0 to the good after four minutes.

However, Lansdowne were soon back on level terms after Bobby Sheehan’s try and Michael Moloney’s conversion.

Lansdowne then hit the front on 11 minutes with a try from Matt Healy with Moloney again converting.

Munster’s hit back through a Rob Carney five-pointer to cut the Lansdowne advantage back to two points.

A Moloney penalty stretched the lead back to five points with the score now at 17-12 to Lansdowne 23 minutes.

However, the home side went in ahead at half time thanks to Oisin Minogue’s try that Dalle Court converted.

Munster’s further enhanced their lead thanks to a Ben Whatley score seven minutes into the second half. A Dalle Court conversion then saw the home side 26-17 in front.

It was Lansdowne’s game from their on in though with Dylan O’Keeffe, Hugo McLoughlin and Daniel Hurley getting tries for the Dublin side. Moloney added two conversions to give his side a 10-point winning margin.

Garryowen were also defeated in their game against Blackrock College in Division 1A on a 43-16 scoreline in Dooradoyle. You can read the report here.

Both Shannon and UL Bohs were in action in Division 2A but both teams were beaten on the day against Corinthians and Queens University respectively.

Shannon were well beaten in Galway with the home side coming away with a 24-3 win. Dara Walsh, Harry Rogers and Aidan Vetjens scoring tries for Corinthians.

Aran Hehir’s penalty late in the half for Shannon was their reply. Shannon sit in eighth place in Division 2A after their fourth loss of the campaign.

UL Bohs are one place below Shannon in the table following a 40-24 defeat to Queens at the University of Limerick.

Bohs got off to a flyer thanks to Seamus Branagh’s try that was converted by Cian Casey but Charlie Hargy replied for Queens.

It was tight for the remainder of the half but a Casey penalty gave Bohs a 10-5 lead at the break.

Dan Green’s try and conversion put Queens ahead early in the second half but Paul Clancy soon had Bohs back in front. Casey’s conversion saw them 17-12 clear.

Oliver Hughes then levelled for Queens and Green’s kick for the extras then had them back ahead on 50 minutes.

Tom Bell then crossed for Queens, with Green once again kicking the conversion to put his side 26-17 up.

Two quick fire Fraser Cunningham scores put the game beyond reach for Bohs. Again, the metronomic Green added the extras to get them to the 40-point mark.

Bohs did manage a third try late on courtesy of Liam O’Shanahan that Casey converted but it was the away side that took the win.

In Division 2C South, Bruff, Thomond and Old Crescent were all playing with mixed results. Old Crescent were in a top of the table clash with Clonmel in Tipperary.

However, it was a rare off day for Crescent with Clonmel earning a 16-5 win. Junior Okafor got the opening for Crescent on nine minutes but that was as good as it got for the Rosbrien outfit.

Josh O’Connor chipped in with 11 points of the tee for Clonmel with Tom Ross crossing for their solitary try.

Bruff secured a 31-25 victory away to Enniscorthy, with Clem McAuliffe scoring twice alongside tries from Wiktor Wilczuk, Andrew O'Byrne and Paul Collins.
