STUDENTS across Limerick turned heads as the annual student raceday brought a burst of colour, style and celebration to the city and its outskirts.

From early morning this Thursday, students gathered across Limerick, boarding buses and taxis dressed to the nines for one of the biggest social dates on the student calendar. The streets filled with sharp suits, flowing dresses, high heels and carefully coordinated accessories, while fake tan and fresh hairdos completed the look.

By midday, Limerick Racecourse was a sea of spring fashion, with students embracing both classic race-day elegance and bold, trend-led styles.

The scene was as much about camaraderie as it was about competition, with racegoers embracing the occasion in style. Laughter, shouts and bursts of celebration echoed across the stands, reflecting a day that blends sport with spectacle.

The event has become as much about fashion and socialising as it is about the racing itself. Tailored waistcoats, colourful ties and gold watches and accessories added to the visual spectacle, while groups paused between races to capture the moment on their phones. Friends reunited after exams and lectures and made the most of a day that marks a highlight of the college year.

As the races unfolded, cheers from the stands mixed with music and laughter, creating a lively atmosphere. For many students, the raceday remains a rite of passage — a chance to celebrate, dress up and enjoy a memorable day out before the academic year draws to a close.
