THE MUCH loved Rathkeale Christmas Concert returns to St Mary’s Church with Eurovision legend Dana set to join this year’s festive celebration.

People from all over Limerick will gather at the church on Friday, December 12, to enjoy an evening of festive music and Christmas celebrations.

Concert producer, Seamus Hogan said: “Our annual Christmas concert has now become the highlight of the Christmas season in Rathkeale and people come from all over Limerick.

“We've been trying to get Dana for a long time so we're delighted to get her for this year's concert, where people will get the opportunity to see an Irish Eurovision legend up close and personal in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary's Church.”

This will be Dana’s first time performing in Limerick and is set to perform a mix of festive favourites and her international hits, including the worldwide No 1 All Kinds of Everything.

There will also be an opportunity for a special meet-and-greet with the first Irish Eurovision winner after the performance.

This year’s concert also features a special guest appearance by James Nelson, returning to Rathkeale after his previous sold-out performance with The Celtic Tenors.

Anne Phelan of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will join the line-up, along with past and present students of Coláiste na Trócaire under the musical direction of Jean O’Brien.

Talking about the evening, Seamus said: “It will definitely be all kinds of everything on the night and the perfect opportunity to start the Christmas celebrations in musical style with family and friends.”

Hogan noted that the concert is a true community effort. He said “Of course we always make a substantial donation to the church as it’s a not-for-profit community event.”

Tickets, priced at €30, are available from John’s Menswear, Rathkeale, and the reception at Rathkeale House Hotel.
