Twelve parades in Limerick as St Patrick's Day arrives

Paralympian medalist Róisín Ní Ríain will lead the city's St Patrick’s Day parade at 12 noon on Monday, March 17

TWELVE parades will take place across Limerick city and county this Monday as St Patrick’s Day 2025 arrives.

Grand marshals will lead out celebrations across the county, with the largest parade set to be in the city centre.

Here, Paralympic medallist, swimmer Róisín Ní Ríain from Drombanna, will make a splash as she has the honour of heading Limerick city’s annual St Patrick’s Day parade before a crowd of tens of thousands of people.

Elsewhere, parades are also taking place in Castleconnell (12:30pm), Rathkeale (12:30pm), Kilfinane (12:30pm), Bruff (2:30pm) and Ballylanders (3pm).

Also on the agenda are marches at Mountcollins (12noon), Askeaton (2pm), Adare (3pm) and Castlemahon (3pm).

History will be made in Hospital, which is holding its first ever paeade from noon this St Patrick's Day.

And Abbeyfeale's celebration brings the curtain down on the parades at 4pm.

Limerick has already played host to four parades already this weekend.

On Sunday, Kilmallock came out in force for its annual parade, while Newcastle West's locals also gathered.

Earlier the same day, Broadford's parade took place.

While in Limerick city centre, the 53rd International Band Championship provided a toe-tapping soundtrack to the day.

The parade at Newport in Co Tipperary on Saturday also drew a huge amount of people from Limerick.

Happy St Patrick's Day to you all!
