Irish people rush to buy this one essential item as sales more than double amid heatwave
With temperatures in Ireland surpassing parts of Spain, Portugal and even Greece this week, it would appear that Irish people have been extremely busy stocking up on fans to cope with the warm weather.
The UK and Irish retailer Currys has revealed that sales of fans has doubled across all stores in Ireland and online since just last weekend alone.
Depending on what you're looking for, some fans go for as little as €29.99 whereas some can set you back up to €499.99.
As Met Éireann have forecasted even higher temperatures in the coming days with some parts of the country expected to see up to 25 degrees, it is likely that fan sales will continue to peak this weekend.

Met Éireann have also predicted that Ireland can expect a warmer summer overall and so perhaps a fan might be a good investment at this point.
Due to Climate Change, the national forecaster believes it is highly likely that May, June and July will be between half a degree and one degree warmer than normal this year.
We may not see heatwaves such as this throughout the summer, but it is possible that it will be a warmer one overall.
