ALERT: Met Éireann's weather forecast for the week ahead has two big predictions

Met Éireann has delivered its weather forecast for the week ahead and their meteorologists have made two big predictions.

While they say we're in for a continued spell of dry and sunny weather, it may not be time yet to dump the winter duvet at night.

In their outlook for the week, Met Éireann said: "Continuing mainly dry. Plenty of sunshine during the days with temperatures gradually increasing further. Chilly during the nights."

They predict Monday "will be dry with plenty of sunshine, a little warmer generally with highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees, still coolest near east and south coasts in a light southeasterly or variable breeze."

They add: "Monday night will be dry with some mist or fog patches developing. It will be chilly with lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees with light variable breezes or easterly breezes. Some frost will form too."

The forecast for the rest of the week continues: "On Tuesday, fog will clear through in the morning to give another dry day with plenty of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with light variable or easterly breezes.

"Tuesday night will be cold with clear spells and light variable breezes. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees. Some grass frost forming in parts. Mist and fog patches setting in also.

"Wednesday will continue dry with good sunshine once again. Highs will reach 14 to 18 degrees, generally, a little cooler near some eastern coasts with light easterly or variable winds.

"The latter part of the week will remain dry, and will become warmer in the east too, as light variable breezes or calm conditions set in. Spells of hazy sunshine are expected with highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees."
